Access time

Access time is very fast as 0.4 millisecond that hi-end mechanical hard drive access is around 0.8 millisecond , SSD is about 2 times faster than present mechanical hard drive.

Bandwidth

SSD has a high bandwith rate which maximum read speed is 250 MB / s and Maximum Write Speed is 70 MB /s in specification which have more bandwidth than most mechanical hard drive. By bandwithd testing, SSD has very stable transfer rate than mechanical hard drive that show on below graphs.

As graphs show, Intel X25M SSD’s Transfer rate is almost linear tranfer rate every points but Seagate Mechanical is not. The mechanical parts has been used in hard drive cause unequally data transfer rates.

Noise sound

Mechanical Hard drives have moveable pieces that can not avoid to produce noise sound. However, SDD is no noise because there is any moveable parts in it which it is impossible to generate any noise sound – zero noise garanteed.

Electric Power Consumption

SSD use less electric power consumption by no lost energy on physical movement as mechanical hard drive which use electric power efficiently.

Temperature

No moveable parts of SSD is less heat production by friction and motor operation.

Size

SSD is very small and light because it made from circuit board and a few small chips, much more tiny than mechanical hard drive presently.

Durability

SSD has more heat, vibration and shock resistant than mechanical hard drive. Mechanical Hard drive has many fragile parts in it compare to SSD has only a number of IC chips on a circuit board which more stable and durable.

There is many advantages that beat mechanical hard drive but the most important burden is very expensive cost of SSD. SSD costs around 10 times on the same capacity of mechanical hard drive that is use on special laptops such as tough laptops, low energy comsumption laptops, etc.
